A day at camp
The same day, a new build
Every day follows the same rhythm, so campers know what comes next and can spend their attention on the build.
- 9:00 a.m.
Step 1: Sign-in
An adult on your list signs your camper in at the door, and a counselor walks each group to its room.
- 9:30 a.m.
Step 2: Circle and challenge
The group hears the day's problem: carry a load, light a bulb, keep a rocket in the air.
- 10:00 a.m.
Step 3: First build
Campers plan, build and test. Counselors ask questions rather than hand over answers.
- 12:00 p.m.
Step 4: Lunch and outside time
Lunch from home at tables, then time on the lawn in the shade, with a water break.
- 1:15 p.m.
Step 5: Second build
The same problem again, or a new one, with the morning's test results in hand.
- 2:30 p.m.
Step 6: Test and share
Each group shows what it made. On Fridays, families join us for demo day.
The week's rhythm
Monday plans, Friday shows
Monday is for the plan and the first prototype. Tuesday through Thursday are for building, testing and rebuilding, because the second try is usually better than the first. Friday afternoon is demo day, when campers explain what they made to their families.
Pickup is at 3:30 p.m., with early drop-off and late pickup booked by the week
Lunch and a snack come from home; we keep a water station filled
Everything else is supplied, from glue to batteries
